Cats. We've lived alongside them for thousands of years. We've worshipped them, feared them, blamed them for bad luck, associated them with witches and death… and yet somehow they still manage to stare at an empty corner of the room at three in the morning like they know something we don't.
In this episode of Bald & Beyond, Dave and Arthur explore the strange relationship between cats and the paranormal — from ancient beliefs and historical superstitions to ghost stories, mysterious feline encounters and the bizarre behaviour that has made cats such enduring companions in tales of the supernatural.
Are cats simply strange little creatures with excellent hearing and an unfortunate tendency to freak their owners out… or have humans been noticing something genuinely unusual about them for thousands of years?
Because when your cat suddenly stops, stares into the darkness and follows something you can't see…
you might want to start wondering exactly what they're looking at.
